THAT WHICH oppresses me, is it my soul trying to come out in the open, or the soul of the world knocking at my heart for its entrance?

মাটি আঁকড়িয়া থাকিবারে চাই
           তাই হয়ে যাই মাটি।
"রবো' বলে যার লোভ কিছু নাই
           সেই রয়ে যায় খাঁটি।
পাহাড় যে সেও ক্ষ'য়ে ক্ষ'য়ে মরে
           কালের দীর্ঘশ্বাসে
মুকুল কেবল যতবার ঝরে
           ততবার ফিরে আসে।

THE WIND OF heaven blows,
The anchor desperately clutches the mud,
and my boat is beating its breast against the chain.
