     পাড়া চারিদিককার,
সন্ধ্যায় ঘরে ফেরে
     নিয়ে ঝুলি ভিক্ষার।
   বলে সিধু গড়গড়ি
   রাগে দাঁত কড়মড়ি,
'ভিখ্‌ মেগে ফের', মনে
     হয় না কি ধিক্কার?'
ঝুলি নিজে কেড়ে বলে,
     'মাহিনা এ শিক্ষার।'
